Az orvosnál
This is the doctor's examination room. Once a year you are examined by a doctor. This is called a check-up. First you are told to go to the examination room, then you are taken by the school nurse to another room. Here you are first measured, then weighed. After that the doctor sees you. Of course, the examination is not painful, but you feel a little nervous. You are glad if the doctor finally says that you are healty. but you are not happy if you are told to go to the polyclinic for a more thorough examination.

A házunk
There’s a dining-room downstairs right next to the kitchen. There’s a big round table in the middle of the room and there are four chairs around it. There are flowers in a vase on the table. They’re really nice. There’s a cupboard beside the table with plates and glasses in it. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One’s the children’s bedroom. There are two beds and a wardrobe in it. There are also shelves by the wall and there are toys on the shelves.

Maria városa
My name is Maria and I live in Cape Town. I love Cape Town – it’s a really relaxed and friendly city. It’s South Africa’s second biggest city. There’s a lot to see and do in Cape Town. The old part of the city is quite small so the best way to see it is on foot. Make sure you visit the market stalls in Greenmarket Square and perhaps take a guided tour of the old castle. If you have time, you can take a short drive out of Cape Town to the famous Table Mountain. From the top you have a wonderful view of the whole city, the harbour, and of course, the sea.
Egy utazás részletei
I made friends with a man called John. Sometimes we talked about our ideas for a holiday. We decided to go together to Paris. We went by train, of course. The journey lasted over 12 hours. Of course, we saw all the famous buildings in Paris. They were fascinating. But most of all, we enjoyed the delicious French food. In particular, we ate some mushrooms that were as big as plates. We told everyone about the size of the mushrooms when we got back home. But nobody belived us.

10 vörös alma
Ten red apples growing on a tree,
(hold hands up high)
Five for you and five for me.
(shake one hand, then the other)
Help me shake the tree just so,
(shake whole body)
And ten red apples fall down below.
(lower hands while fluttering fingers)
One, two, three, four, five,
(count fingers on one hand)
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
(count fingers on other hand)
(hold hands up high)
Five for you and five for me.
(shake one hand, then the other)
Help me shake the tree just so,
(shake whole body)
And ten red apples fall down below.
(lower hands while fluttering fingers)
One, two, three, four, five,
(count fingers on one hand)
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.

The fish and chip shop
A special British institution is the fish and chip shop, where it is possible to buy a piece of fried fish and potatoes to take away. You can eat the fish and chips in the street as you walk along, or take it home if you live nearby, and eat it on a plate. In cold weather some people take it into public telephone booths to eat leaving the very greasy paper on the floor or throwing it away in the street outside. Most Fish and chip shops close before 11 pm. Snack bars and espresso coffe bars are very popular among young people below the age for going to pubs.
